New baby and a few months of blur....

I ended up having Skye Xophia on November 4th of 2012. I had a successful VBAC. To celebrate her turning 6 months old I will blog about her birth. I can't believe she has been here for 5 & 1/2 months! At the same time I can't imagine life without her. She has two teeth that she just got this past week! She loves to chase Aiden by rolling after him on the floor. She gets into his toys. He loves her and loves to share with her most of the time. Aiden also loves to be silly and make her smile. When we first brought Skye home Aiden wanted to know when her mommy was coming to get her and when she would be going home. He had way more tantrums and was just plain disobedient but it has gotten so much better especially in the last month.

Aiden went to an OT evaluation for some sensory issues he was having. After doing some tests with him they discovered that he gets dizzy and doesn't feel secure when he is in any position but straight up and down. So he has problems with swings, slides, and a few other things. They gave me a brush to brush his arms, back and legs to help with his senses. He has a review on the 2nd of May and then will be going regularly to see them for a while.

In other news, the house that we are living in we are finally getting to remodel it. I am so excited it is starting to look so nice! I have taken before and will take after pictures when it is done! Sam has done such a great job and I am so excited! I look forward to having friends over for dinner in the future. With the remodeling comes new ways of organizing. I am working on creating a binder of our favorite recipes and hope to share some of them with you guys in the future. I hope to be blogging again soon but for right now life is still a little crazy so I may just get caught up with life.

Maternity Photo Shoot!

Yesterday we did my maternity photo shoot. I had a blast! It was fun posing for the camera and just having fun with family while I had the pictures taken. A big thank you to my mom! I think she did an amazing job! Also thank you to Jennifer for advice! Aiden was so good and tried to work with us. The photo shoot ended at the end of the road where my parent's live with Sam, my dad, and Aiden eating pizza and watching the last few photos. I really did have fun with this. Here are a few of my favorites!

Fall & the Real Count Down Begins

I don't know what happened to fall... It was beautiful and still warm only a few days ago, but now it is freezing at night! We also had a few winter like days last week that made me have to turn on my heat, still trying to figure out what temperature to keep the house at because we haven't had anything but space heaters for the past two years. I love fall, all the festivities and food!

Aiden and Carter discussing important matters

We went to the Dixie Classic Fair a couple of weeks ago. Everyone went: Aiden, Sam, my dad, my mom, Leah, Lucas, Brailyn, Kyle, Jennifer (my cousin), Carter (her son) and me. There is just something about the fair. The food smells delicious, the rides are a blast (even though this is the first time I went and couldn't ride anything but the Ferris wheel, which I hate by the way) and the Demolishion Derby is always fun to watch. This year we went when they had the figure eight races which is like the Demolishion derby but racing. It was  awesome!!!! Sam and I were yelling at the top of our lungs! We got the traditional teriyaki chicken on a stick, roasted corn on the cob, cotton candy and Cheeseburgers. Aiden played a game with his Pepe and won a stuffed dog. We stayed all day. I was so tired and sore but it was so worth it! Aiden got to ride the train, airplanes, trucks and so much more. He had a blast.

I love the fair!

I was also given a surprise baby shower. It was wonderful! I received lots of beautiful things for Skye Xophia. Some clothes, blankets, diaper bag, and much more. Thank you again to everyone who came and for everything I received.

Awesome gift! It was a clothesline with outfits, bibs, ect. attached with clothespins. It was carefully packaged so that you started with the flower on top and just kept pulling and pulling and pulling the clothesline out!

Some of my wonderful gifts including a mommy bag!

Last week I also got to attend my brother-in-law's wedding. It was beautiful! Sam was a groomsman. The fall colors were amazing! Aiden, Sam and I got to visit with Nana and Papa (Sam's grandparents from Knoxville, TN). We went to their hotel the night after the wedding and Aiden got to go swimming in the pool with his Aunt Gracie and Uncles- Ian and Isaac! He loved it! They also ordered pizza one of Aiden's favorites. The morning after the wedding we went back to the hotel and had breakfast with Nana and Papa. It was great to see them.

Other than that I am now 2 weeks and 2 days away from Skye's due date! I went to  Dr. Dorn yesterday and they did a check up. I had to start going to a new Dr because we moved to Midway area. I would highly recommend him to anyone in the High Point area. He pretty much told me that all the things the other Dr had said were crazy and that he doesn't see where they documented any of the information they told me. He ran tests and did an ultrasound himself and said that he doesn't see any real problems. He checked my scar for signs of weakness (where the scar is thinner and might tear during a VBAC). I do have a spot on my left that is thinner than he would like but not so thin that he would say no. I do have gestational diabetes but I am managing that with diet. Other than that I everything is good! As of yesterday I have dilated one and a half centimeters. I have been having Braxton Hicks 24/7 to some degree the last few days. I am having a pregnancy photo shoot today at 4. I can't wait! I have almost all of the baby clothes washed, my hospital bag packed and my birth plan filled out. I have to still pack Aiden's bag which I am planning to do tonight along with the rest of the laundry.

Unfortunately, the house we moved into in Midway is not working out so we are now going to be moving to a house that is closer to my parents in Thomasville. It needs some work but hopefully it will all work out. Sam is thrilled because it has a two car garage that he can use. It is also less expensive then the place we were renting. I think that is all for now. If I am ambitious I will be on here later to post some of my maternity photo pictures!

Moving...

Well where to begin... So many things have happened since the last time I posted.

First of all I will start with the fact that I was having extreme itching all over head to toe. So bad that I couldn't sleep at night. The Dr thought I was having a problem with my liver in short the initials are Intrahepatic Cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). So they ran some test on me and it turned out that while I do have bile in my blood it is not enough to be diagnosed as ICP. Which I am VERY thankful for because  I would be worried constantly about Skye going into distress and would not be able to have a VBAC. They would have had to monitor Skye's heart rate more and watch for signs that she wasn't going into distress. If she had I would have had to have an emergency C-section. Thank you again everyone for your prayers. I have also been drinking a mixture of 100% juice in the morning to help with my liver and it does help with the itching. I didn't pass either of my glucose tests so they said I have Gestational Diabetes. So this past week I have been having to prick my finger four times a day. So far my blood sugar has only gone up once past what it should be. That morning I had a lot of sugar too (boberry biscuits). I know I shouldn't have but they looked so tasty and smelled so good... Other than that Skye is healthy and appears to be growing on schedule. I have 2 more Dr appointments in Shallotte and Wilmington.

Which leads me to the next thing, Sam and I decided to move back to Lexington area. We are going to be living in Midway area. We are very excited to be moving back closer to family. I found a Dr up here that comes highly recommended. I have made my first appointment with him for the first week in October. I am also trying to get everything else switched up here Aiden's Dr, Dentist, ect. We kind of already moved up here because Sam wasn't getting enough hours with his old job. He is working with my dad right now and we are staying with them until we can move into our new place. So far everything is working out well. Sam is finally getting a new engine for his car too.

This past weekend we (my mom and I) took all the kids and Carter to the park. They had a blast. Climbing, sliding, swinging and seeing the ducks.By the end we were all tired and ready to go home. It was much hotter than we expected. Aiden after hearing a group singing "Happy Birthday" in a nearby picnic shelter was determined to get some birthday cake. Sadly he was disappointed when I told him no. His Mimi ended up buying a birthday cake later on for snack. He was a very happy little boy.

Other than that I have been having cramping/ Braxton Hicks for 4 days now and I am getting a little tired of them. But they aren't too terribly bad, just annoying. Skye is due in 47 days- 6 weeks 5 days- 1 month 2 weeks and 5 days. However you want to think of it... That is all for now.

3 Weeks Away From Home

Uncle Seth showing Aiden the tank

I have been at my parents for three weeks. My mom asked me to stay an extra week to help out with the littles because she started school back and they didn't go back to school until the week after she started. So that is how 2 weeks turned into 3 weeks. I arrived at my parents' house on the 4th of August. We left for Kansas to see Seth on Wednesday the 8th. We stopped in Indiana to stay with some old family friends, the Wings. It was very good to see them. We got to Kansas on Thursday evening. We had a lot of fun staying with Seth and his wife Sarah. They took us on a tour of the base. Aiden loved the helicopters and pow-pows (guns). Up a huge hill to see some tanks. The best restaurant we ate at was Famous Daves. It was delicious! The ribs fell off the bone, macaroni and cheese with jalapenos, yummy potato salad and not to mention the delicious wings! We went swimming at the pool in their apartment. Seth was an awesome uncle to Aiden. In fact he was very helpful with my little man. On the way home we stayed with the Wings again. We did have a few set backs on the way home like driving 2 hours West instead of East and my mom lost her keys. They ended up being 7 miles away from where she set them on the hood of the car. Somebody riding a bike found them and mailed them back. Nice, huh?

For some reason all of his Aunts and Uncles are referred to as Wugda.

Family photo- the only one missing is Sam

Anyway three weeks is a long time to be away from my husband. I miss him a lot. Last weekend he came up to see me but I hadn't seen him in 2 weeks! He took me out to a hotel to have a night alone together. I had a blast and found him wonderfully romantic. Chocolates in the room and everything. We ate dinner at Ham's and of course I got the Chef's wrap with homemade chips my favorite! Then I had a cup of coffee from Starbucks because I was craving it. The next morning we ate breakfast at the hotel and had a late checkout of noon. We went to lunch at Panera Bread before going back to my parents' house. I really enjoyed the time I had with him.

Aiden checking out the beautiful fish!

Last weekend Aiden went to his cousin Carter's birthday party which had an Elmo & Dorothy theme. He had a good time. He ate goldfish crackers, drank lemonade, played with the parachute and enjoyed cake. He sadly went home early though because he fell and skinned his knee pretty bad. He even got to take home a fish as a party favor!

The parachute!

I have really enjoyed the time I spent with my family. They were awesome to let me go with them to Kansas! I am grateful to them for letting me stay in Leah's room and spend time with them. I am ready to get back to my own home though with my own routine. Sunday I will be 3/4 of the way through this pregnancy! I am getting so close!

Preschool, Potty Training & a New Family Member

This morning Aiden and I did preschool. I tried to teach him to draw circles but all he did was scribble and say circle as he was scribbling. Haha! Oh well. We also practiced counting to 5. The only problem is when you say 1 he says 2, if you say 2 he says 3 and so on.... gotta love my little boy. We also played with blocks, his cookie jar that fits different shapes, outside on his play area and with the peg board (which is one of his favorite things to do right now). He is doing awesome with his potty training! He is staying dry during naps and hasn't had an accident in 2 days. In the 4 days we have been potty training he only had 1 accident! He even stayed dry when we went out for a couple of hours this morning. Cuddling was also on the to do list today. He was just happy chilling on my lap with me reading him a book and watching a movie after dinner. Tonight for dinner we had burgers, homemade mac and cheese and fresh pineapple. It was delicious!

Today we officially added a new member to our growing family, a cat we have decided to call Winrey. She showed up at our house over a week ago.  We didn't feed her because we figured she was just a neighbor's cat and that they would come and get her. Well no one ever came. She is super sweet to Aiden (and everybody). She will just climb up in your lap and purr like there is no tomorrow. Aiden carries her all around the yard sometimes upside down and she doesn't even try to scratch him. The dogs have chased her out of the yard too over and over yet with all this she is still here. So she has been adopted by us. Pictures will follow maybe tomorrow.

Skye has been moving all day long making me VERY uncomfortable but hopefully she will let me sleep tonight. I guess we will see.

Forgotten blog

So today I was doing a search for my email because I was bored. Well this blog popped up. I totally forgot I had made a blog! Well surprise! So I decided I would start using it...

Introducing the Chavez family... Sam and I met when I was 12 and he was 13. We were both involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). We  liked each other then, but I was not allowed to date until I was 16. We kept in touch for a while but eventually lost contact when I was around 14 or 15. When I turned 17 I tried calling him. We started talking again and from there are relationship grew... May 18, 2007 we went on our 1st date to Arigato's Japanese Streak house and to see Shrek 3. Within a month I wrote in my journal that I knew I wanted to marry him. On May 18, 2008 he proposed. The ring was in a rose that was part of a bouquet he had given me at the start of the night. I didn't find out until that evening though. We were married January 30,2010.

Aiden Xane was born on June 24, 2010.... unfortunately my little boy is not feeling well today tummy troubles. It wouldn't be so bad but we are working on potty training. This week is also our 1st week of preschool. He is doing great so far. I love teaching him new things. We are working on the alphabet, counting to 10, some gross and fine motor skills, and colors.

Aiden Xane- My wonderful 2 year old!

We are expecting a little girl, Skye Xophia, who is due November 4th. I am 26 and a half weeks today. This pregnancy was not as easy as the last. I had problems with spotting and depression in the 1st trimester. In this 2nd trimester I am still having problems that lead to preterm labor. I am just hoping my little girl stays put full term. I am going to attempt a VBAC (vaginal birth after c-section) with her if I can.

Skye Xophia- 25 weeks and 2 days

Other than that Aiden and I are going to be leaving Friday to go up to my parents (his Mimi and Pepe's) house. Then Thursday morning we are leaving with them to go see my brother Seth who is stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. I won't be home until August 19th. I haven't had to be away from my husband for 2 weeks in forever. I am excited and little anxious about it....
